You're standing at the mouth of a cave; the yawning aperture suggests risk and reward in equal measure. Armed with some flares, a Salvo frag pistol, and a Pyro Multitool, you descend into the dark. Making the gamble. Taking the plunge. A little while later you emerge, sweating, panting. Your flares are gone, your pistol empty. You barely survived. It was risky to be sure, but you smile as you think of the gems weighing down your pack. Later, that smile keeps growing as you inspect your valuable haul from the comfort of your ship. Is that a proximity alert? That's odd, there shouldn't be anything along this route... This is life among the stars.
This is Star Citizen Alpha 3.7.
You've explored the stars and flown every inch of the traversable atmosphere. You've scoured the faces of planets, moons, and asteroids in pursuit of adventure. Now delve beneath the surface into fully immersive cave systems teeming with mystery, danger, and opportunity for those brave enough to risk it.
No longer is the noble trade of mining limited to those in the 'verse with a dedicated ship. Armed with a powerful Pyro Multitool, mineral hunters can take the profitable art of extraction wherever they may roam - on the surface of moons, planetary bodies, and beyond into subterranea.
Did you find valuable gems and ore in your underground exploits? Want to get them back to civilization and sold for cold, hard cash? Simply store them in your Personal Inventory, where they'll remain safe and at your disposal. And it doesn't end with mined minerals. The PU is chock full of items you can harvest or pick up, stash in your inventory, and use or sell later as you see fit.
With the debut of Quantum Enforcement, an all-new gameplay feature is unleashed upon the 'verse and unsuspecting pilots. Ships like the new RSI Mantis, outfitted with Quantum Enforcement Devices, are capable of pulling both NPC and player-piloted ships abruptly out of quantum travel. Once caught by the Quantum Snare, a dampener prevents the interdictee from fleeing, making these ships well suited to law enforcement practices. Or you know, whatever.
